The Folio Stately home or ‘Villa Folio’ and its garden are run by a family of the same name. Visiting this home is a real trip back to a time when the influential Creole families left the warmth of the coast to benefit from the cooler climes in the hills, residing in stylish and charming little Creole houses. The Folio garden symbolizes the Creole ‘art de vivre’ with its ‘guetali’, its fountain and its paved walkways of old stone. Take a stroll along a journey of exotic scents, including perfumed, aromatic and medicinal plants: geranium, vetiver, patchouli, turmeric, lemongrass and allspice… One of the outbuildings now houses a small exhibition of everyday objects from that period and local crafts.
