The Saint-André Municipal Tourist Office (MTO) is a reception, information and reservation point for the many tourist services on offer across the island: hikers’ gites, “Gîtes de France” gites and rooms, “Clévacances” seasonal rentals, Creole hotels, nature activities and selected cultural visits. It participates in organisation of the town's tourist activities, communicates on cultural activities and disseminates programmes. The Office is housed in Maison Martin Valliamée, a listed Historical Monument. Gateway to the eastern region, the town of Saint-André provides all the landscape attractions of a rural area marked by the sugar industry. A centre of Tamil culture, with colourful temples and Indian festivals, it also accommodates one of the island's main distilleries. The MTO also organises cookery workshops to coincide with events (Dipavali, new year's day, etc.) - contact the Office for further information. Open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Access for the disabled.
