A land of extremes

The island’s exceptional natural heritage makes Reunion a destination for sports, adventures or simply for relaxing. A holiday here is the chance to completely throw yourself into your favourite activities or to experience new sensations on land, out at sea or even up in the air.

Trekking

A Hiker’s Paradise

For those who love fresh air and the great natural outdoors, Reunion has an extensive network of footpaths. The choice of itineraries is so diverse that there’s something for everyone, from Sunday afternoon walkers to mountain summit runners.

Treks around the island can also be done by bicycle or on horse-back

There are dozens of mountain-bike tracks zig-zagging across stunning landscapes, leaving you with unforgettable memories of downhill runs from the highest summits right down to the seashore.

Mountain-bike

Climbing

With over 6000 cumulative metres of climbing walls, Reunion is an ideal spot for amateur ‘spidermen’. There are around twenty different sites catering for all levels and capacities. Height and difficulty may not always go hand in hand, but many beginners choose to take things easy at first on the many training walls between 5 and 60 metres. The braver among you may opt for the highest points, with some cliff faces reaching more than 300m up.

Daring acrobats of all ages can even whizz down ziplines on a treetop playground high above the tropical forest floor.

4x4 Excursions

If you prefer a four wheeled experience, why not try an 4x4 excursion off the beaten track ? There are unique areas to visit and viewpoints to take your breath away.

Golf

Anyone for golf?

There are three golf courses in Reunion, all different and original : there is the Golf Club du Colorado in the north up in the hills of St Denis, the Golf Club de Bourbon in Etang Salé, and the Golf de Bassin Bleu in the hills of St Gilles.
