La Rue de Paris     

This tour allows visitors to explore the heart of the capital of the island of La Réunion. From the Jardin de l’État garden to the old Town Hall, Creole villas line a thoroughfare with an evocative name: the Rue de Paris. Leading figures have taken their first steps in this famous wealthy street: Léon Dierx, proclaimed Prince of the Poets and Raymond Barre, former Prime Minister of the French Republic. On this prestigious street of the regional capital Saint-Denis, certain monuments have been erected while others have been preserved: - Jardin de l’Etat, - Evêché, - Léon Dierx Museum, - Arthotèque, - Villa du Département, - Villa de Raymond-Barre, and the Old Town Hall.
