Distillerie Rivière du Mât     

La Rivière du Mât Distillery is located in Saint-Benoît, on the Beaufonds industrial site, whose chimney is listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments. The distillery processes all molasses produced at Le Gol sugar refinery and a percentage of those produced by the Bois-Rouge refinery. The island’s leading producer and exporter of La Réunion rum and other alcoholic drinks, it operates from May to December, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with respect for the environment and the need to economise energy ever in mind. The distillery holds 3 guided visits a day upon appointment, from Tuesday to Saturday, at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. during the rum production period (May to December). Duration of visit approximately 1 hour. Minimum age: 10 years old. Comfortable clothing advised. Safety precautions: visits by groups of 15 people maximum, flash photography prohibited. Group rate.
