As with grape-harvesting in Metropolitan France, guava picking has become a real institution on Île de la Réunion! As a family or among friends, it’s an opportunity to spend a day in a companionable, atmosphere, centred around that slightly acid little red fruit which can be enjoyed as a juice, jelly or jam. For the occasion, Verger Delatre opens its immense guava orchard – 7 full hectares of trees, perfectly maintained and cultivated without resorting to fertilisers or insecticides. It is located near the “Bois de Couleur des Hauts” forest, just past the Bras Cabot trail, in the cool of Plaine des Palmistes. Rate per bucket of guavas picked.
